In short
A kitchen timer is a countdown you can set with one hand and hear across a room. This browser version needs no batteries, has a much larger display than a clip-on timer, and can be added to a phone or tablet home screen.

- Optional — can be added to a home screen
Why the browser wins in a kitchen
The magnetic timer on the fridge has three problems: the battery is always dead, the buttons get sticky, and it lives in the one room where your hands are always full. A tab on a phone propped against the flour jar solves all three, and the display is bigger.
It also counts down in the tab title, so a glance at a laptop across the counter is enough — no need to pick anything up.
Set it up once
- Open this page on the device that lives in the kitchen.
- Add it to the home screen or bookmark bar so it is one tap away.
- Type minutes, press space, get on with cooking.
- Press Fullscreen if you want the digits readable from the other side of the room.
More specific timers
Eggs, baking and general cooking each have their own page with the times worth knowing, all running the same clock.
Questions about the kitchen timer
Does it work on a kitchen tablet or smart display?
Yes, in any modern browser. On a tablet, fullscreen plus a stand turns it into a dedicated timer that costs nothing.
Can I use it while the screen is locked?
The countdown keeps running and the alarm still sounds. Unlocking is only needed to see the digits or stop it early.
How accurate is it?
Accurate to a fraction of a second over an hour. There is no rounding and no accumulated error, because each update recalculates the time left from scratch rather than subtracting from the last figure.
Do I need to sign up?
No. There are no accounts on this site at all, which also means there is nothing to store about you and nothing to delete later.
