Work and rest, hands free

Workout timer

Set the work seconds, the rest seconds and the number of rounds. The timer switches between them on its own, with a tone at every change, so you never touch the screen mid-session.

In short

A workout timer runs work and rest periods in sequence and switches between them automatically, with a tone at each change so you never look at the screen mid-set. This page opens at 45 seconds of work, 15 seconds of rest, for 10 rounds.

Circuit training
45s / 15s across 8 to 12 stations
Conditioning

EMOM

Built for hands you cannot spare

The problem with timing a workout on a phone clock is that you have to look at it, and looking at it at the wrong moment costs you a rep. This one announces the switch with a tone, changes colour between work and rest, and shows the round number, so you can keep your eyes where they should be.

Prop the phone against a water bottle, or press Fullscreen on a laptop at the end of the mat.

Warm up first, and time that too

Five to ten minutes of easy movement before intervals is not optional if you want the hard rounds to be any good. Use the 5 minute timer for the warm-up, then come back here for the working set.

Questions about the workout timer

Can I set uneven rounds, like a long finisher?

Run the main block here, then reset with the new numbers for the finisher. Each round in a single run uses the same work and rest lengths.

Does it keep the screen on during a workout?

It asks the device to stay awake while the timer runs, which most modern phones honour. If your screen still dims, raise the screen timeout in your display settings.

Will it still work if I lock my phone?

Yes. Locking the screen does not pause anything — the remaining time is worked out from the clock, not from how long the page has been visible. While the timer runs the site also asks your phone to keep the screen awake, so it will not dim on you mid-countdown.

Is there a limit on how many timers I can run?

No. Open the page in as many tabs as you like — each one counts independently and shows its own remaining time in its tab title.
